A Work in Progress: Insights on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Education Research

For over a year, the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) has been leading a series of listening sessions and a technical working group focused on expanding diversity and representation in the education sciences. In this Inside IES Research blog post, network member D. Crystal Byndloss, Ph.D., who serves on the technical working group, discusses her career experiences and shares advice for the field on how to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into education research. Dr. Byndloss is a senior associate in the K–12 education policy area at MDRC and the organization's first director of outreach, diversity, and inclusion.
