Understanding SAT® Score Relationships with Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program Outcomes
Title:
Understanding SAT® Score Relationships with Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program Outcomes
Description:
This SAT® validity study focuses on SAT scores' relationships with student outcomes in CTE programs at 2-year postsecondary institutions. SAT scores are useful for understanding students' academic performance in CTE programs as well as students' persistence to the second year and degree/certificate completion within three years. This study provides evidence that the SAT can be a useful tool for understanding and evaluating student readiness for CTE programs and students' subsequent success in these programs. In particular, the study indicates that many students with lower SAT scores can still be successful in CTE programs, but stronger SAT performance is associated with more positive outcomes for these students.
