Title:
Project Lead the Way: Impacts of a High School Applied STEM Program on Early Post-Secondary Outcomes
Description:
Project Lead the Way is an applied STEM program first introduced nearly three decades ago to enhance the STEM content of Career Technical Education (CTE). Using data from three cohorts of public high school freshmen in Missouri, this article investigates the impact of Project Lead the Way program offer and participation on initial post-secondary outcomes. The study found positive program offer impacts on STEM major declaration among students with higher STEM preparation levels, and this outcome improved substantially for Project Lead the Way participants. Impacts on college enrollment were less conclusive.
