This brief highlights the findings from a JFF study examining the monetary benefits and costs of the Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Registered Apprenticeship program, which is an 18-month program for entry-level production workers to acquire advanced manufacturing skills. In line with previous research, the study found that U.S. advanced manufacturers that implemented the IMT Registered Apprenticeship program had a 48% return on investment for employers and positive effects on worker productivity.
