Career and Technical Education in Oregon: Exploring Who Participates in High School and the Outcomes They Achieve
Description:
This study examines secondary CTE school offerings, student participation, and outcomes in Oregon under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV). Data collection took place during Oregon's implementation of Perkins IV. As the state transitions to Perkins V, summarizing the CTE landscape under Perkins IV can provide baseline information to guide implementation. One important finding showed that CTE concentration was positively related to higher high school graduation rates and annual earnings after high school.
