Career and Technical Education, Inclusion, and Postsecondary Outcomes for Students With Learning Disabilities
This report from the National Center for Analysis of Longitudinal Data in Education Research (CALDER) summarizes findings from a study in Washington State that investigated predictors of intermediate and postsecondary outcomes for students with disabilities. The study found weak relationships between CTE enrollment and intermediate/postsecondary outcomes for students with disabilities. In addition, the study replicated earlier findings indicating students with disabilities who enrolled in a "concentration" of CTE courses had higher rates of employment after graduation than similar students with disabilities who enrolled in fewer CTE courses.
The report also was published in the Journal of Learning Disabilities (2019, Vol. 52, Issue 2, pp. 109–119).
