Description:
This recorded CTE Research Network session, presented at ACTE's 2020 CareerTech VISION conference on December 2, 2020, describes interim findings from an MDRC evaluation of seven of New York City’s P-TECH 9–14 schools. These 6-year high schools enable students to earn a high school diploma and an applied associate degree at the same time while partnering with industry sponsors who provide work-based learning experiences for students.
Presenters Rachel Rosen, PhD, and Emma Alterman discuss how these innovative schools are supporting high school students from lower income communities in achieving academic success and staying on track for postsecondary success.
