Multi-State Study of Equity in CTE
In this study, the Career & Technical Education Policy Exchange (CTEx) reviewed high school career and technical education (CTE) programs in three states (Massachusetts, Tennessee, and Washington) and one large metro area (the Atlanta region) over several years to assess the level of equity in students' access to high-quality programming. Specifically, CTEx examined whether CTE participation differed across student groups, whether differences in CTE participation were due to differences in availability across schools or were a product of different take-ups across groups within the same school, and whether student characteristics differed across CTE career clusters.
